It’s Thank You Thursday! Thank you Easter Seals of Nevada for all you do and for your Family Fun Carnival on March 31, 2018, at Wayne Bunker Family Park. Thank you Easter Seals that my sister Gail and I got to be a part of your fun event. Finally, a giant THANK YOU to ALL the organizations and charities who help and support countless lovely people among us, especially those groups who help folks with intellectual and physical disabilities to thrive!

A double row of Carnival-style booths occupied part of the park’s grass area. My sis and I rolled our wagons loaded with books and decor across the grass to our place between Golden Egg Hunt and Face Painting. After setting up our booth with Spring decorations, my books, and life-size Cool Cat cutouts, we waited for the kids to show up. It didn’t take long for kids holding balloons, popcorn, and pink cotton candy to form a line at Face Painting. That line of kids wiggled while it waited!

From my 1950s decorated booth, we gave away bookmarks, postcards, Easter coloring pages, and lots of smiles! Sold some chapter books, too, from The 1950s Adventures of Pete and Carol Ann book series. The characters in book one, Scary Spring, participated in the annual egg hunt at their local park in El Monte, California, kinda like the kids at Wayne Bunker Family Park! Kids had a blast in the past back in the 1950s just like the kids hunting eggs on March 31, 2018, at Easter Seals PACE Family Fun Carnival.

This cool event started with a 10 A.M. Walk around the perimeter of the park! Quite a crowd gathered to do the Walk. Then everyone enjoyed the carnival atmosphere of bounce houses, live music, games, pony rides, petting zoo, balloons, cotton candy, food trucks, Super Hero photo opportunities, and a visit with the Easter Bunny! The special Toys 4 Smiles booth gave away wooden toy cars made by volunteers and folks with disabilities! I got one that looks exactly like my 1937 Ford slant back car on the covers of my books! Very cool!

On Thank You Thursday, thanks to all the awesome volunteers that gave their time to help at the Family Fun Carnival. And thank you once more, Easter Seals, for a wonderful day spent in the park having fun while raising funds and awareness for all you do for the folks of Las Vegas and Nevada. Looking forward to what you’re going to do next year for National Easter Seals 100th year anniversary! One more sincere thank you goes out to all who read this blog post and previous ones! You’re the best!
