Springtime in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, is so lovely! A year ago, in the Spring of 2018 on a visit to Coeur d’Alene, I discovered this gorgeous garden in one of the city’s cute neighborhoods. If you’ve never visited this special city find time to go there! I love Springtime and wrote all about it in my historical fiction chapter book, Scary Spring, for 8 and up about my adventures in the 1950s. Wandering around in Coeur d’Alene in the Spring is a modern day adventure!
During that same Springtime adventure, I made time to visit one of my favorite antique shops! It’s called JUNK but the goods they sell are not! There’s nothing better than a good wander thru a great “junk” store looking for treasures! And especially treasures from the 1950s! The kinds of things I write about in Scary Spring.
More Springtime wandering found me down the street in another favorite store called Looking Glass Antiques where I ran into a former Las Vegas icon! Elvis sang, “I’m nothing but a hound dog . . . in the Springtime!” Besides Elvis, this place was loaded with great 1950s stuff like I wrote about and love to collect.
I couldn’t visit one of my favorite places without stopping downtown for a delicious ice blended mocha from the Vault Coffee Shop. Lovely Spring flowers filled planters near the front door. Another reminder that “Spring had sprung!”
I ended my Springtime wanderings last year in Coeur d’Alene’s downtown mall by taking a photo of this great sign! If possible, take a Spring break this year in colorful and friendly Coeur d’Alene, Idaho! And for some reading fun, buy my cool book, Scary Spring, full of mysteries and exciting adventures in 1950s Springtime! Happy reading and Happy Spring!
