Stopped in Victorville, California, for a Route 66 visit! I’m outside the California Route 66 Museum in Old Town Victorville and what a cool place! One whole side of the museum is a giant mural with the Route 66 California cities. Since I grew up in California this was especially cool for me to see!
Unfortunately the California Route 66 Museum was closed! I may never get to see the inside of one of these cool places. But I’ll be back!
Loved this Route 66 sign on the side of the road in Old Town VIctorville. There was so much to see and appreciate!
After visiting the outside of the museum, I drove over to the VIctorville City Library where I was going to read to some kids. As I approached the door, I stopped to take a photo with the lovely sign they had created for me to let kids know I’d be there to read. A really swell group of youngsters sat very quietly and listened to me read a chapter from my book Scary Spring! We had a great time!
Loving my sign that the library created for me! Thank you Victorville City Library! 👏♥️📚
Ended the day with a book signing at the Barnes & Noble VIctorville store. It’s a beautiful bookstore filled with my favorite things . . . books for sale! I met some fabulous folks who purchased my books about Route 66 in the 1950s or took my information about the 4 book series. Thank you Barnes & Noble Victorville for ordering my books, setting up a lovely display for the books, and making my book signing a super, enjoyable event! Keep following our adventures on Route 66!
